Anyone happens to get 10,000 pageviews, send me a screenie. I need incentive to do arts, so make a request and I'll do it xD

A week and a half before second year exams is probably not a good time to be churning out a drawing or so a day.
Watch the inspiration die as soon as they're over.

  • Listening to: Lifelover
  • Reading: Lecture notes
  • Watching: Rurouni Kenshin (again)
  • Playing: With my hair
  • Eating: My own brains
  • Drinking: Blood, sweat and panic
In the last year and a half or so, I've posted maybe 5 drawings.
This is not good.
In part, because I've probably done 60 or so drawings or decent scribbles that I could conceivably put up here.
In part, because I need to get up off my ass.

So here's to (hopefully) spamming a couple of Deviation inboxes over the next week or so.

EDIT: 3 up so far... that's pretty well it for the digital stuff.

Stuff in the works:
Ink and colourwash thank you-picture
Skritch: Tai yesitisbeingdone. Really. I promise.
Hugeass Shipkiller... more detail work, edit shading, thanks to commenters.
Urrr...
Draze pic, kinda pencil awesomeage... for me :P

Why am I putting my todo list on dA?

I looked at some of the stuff on my ancient PC... ahaharofl*chokesanddies*

I'm gonna have to leave my wacom behind if I want to get ANYTHING done at uni that isn't kayaking or drawing. Fail.

However, I have not lost the graphics pen. Yay!

I've found out why Shipkiller annoys me... too many colours.

I have idea overload, maybe someday I will get off my butt and sketch some out.

I AM LEARNING HOW TO SHADE WITH PENCIL. This makes me happy :)

Ooh, I also have working scanner. Working Scanner Yayness!

Uh... that's it --;

Aargh.
Fail.
2 hrs of highlighting work... gone.

It's a good program for the price, and a great way to start out for us uberpoor people.
Two issues: lack of any zoom after 25% and random errors on files over 3000 sq pixels.
Which isn't much when you're trying to do a print-size picture.

So far I've had:
> refusal to open the file
> refusal to create a new layer
> no cut/paste function, but that seems to come with the over 3000 thing
> refusal to merge layers, resulting in the deletion of one layer...
Hence the rant.

Fail.
Aargh.
/endrant

In other words, I might actually finish this in time ¬¬;

My back is shot. Four locked up vertebrae and a nice bill from the osteopath, yerwhat.

However, lots of time for artsiness. So for once I do something with a point; the psychotic hitman SarahN's vampire comic contest. Wait, was that the wrong way round? Her icon makes me think otherwise...

Sooo... I've been giving it a go. But holee frick does it have to be huge. I go to full zoom-out and it still doesn't all fit on the screen. ^^; But good practice, except for the severe urge to go insane on the detail. 2000 x 3000 is as big as openCanvas will go. Will update this as I go along.

Unexpected note: I wouldn't be surprised to find I'm the first entry, if this rate of progress doesn't slacken off too much now I'm back at work. Three days of working on it so far, even if much of that was spent sleeping and elsewhere. This may be the first properly backgrounded digital pic I've ever actually finished.
SQUEE. NESS.
...
Knights of Cydonia is one hell of a tune.

Shot one: Basic sketch and light source. Positioning of which is a pain in the ass, due to intense paranoia about heavy shading. Alas, Jack demands drama, and Orlock is even worse.
[link]

Shot two: Base colours and a bit of shading. Left hand leg still needs positioning work, but will look better when foot's in. Arms need to be thicker... and I've left the hands till last, as always. Will probably have Orlock and base bg in before those happen.
[link]

Shot 3: What did I say about bg and hands? Leg looks better. Gratuitous spookiness ensues; let there be blood for the oceans, and a creature to blot out the light. The night that he casts is red and blindness.
[link]

Shot 4: Orlock detailiness, at 3/4 size. I think I fixed his head. Weirdly random curly cloakbits, I know not why.
[link]

Shot 5: Holy frick, I might actually finish this. Background = Clouds done, Orlock's rooftop done, main shading on near waves done, lightsource shadows ftw?
...
Still haven't started on Jack's hands.
[link]

Shot 6: End of day 3, and the [s]housemates[/s] picture is actually nearing completion. Hands done finally, only foot left to go on the major stuff. Then vast amounts of tweaking. Also, weird jpeg compression on his hair. Outline ftw?
[link]

...that's it for now.

I want drawing lessons. Meh, I need drawing lessons, if only to teach me that the photo painting they all seemed to be doing after I quit it at school isn't the be-all and end-all.
However, next 5 1/2 years = either no time or no time plus no money.
Eh, we can't have everything. The work I'm doing this year's mostly interesting, and uni's probably going to be great. I need to stop moaning. ;)
...
But I'm posting this anyway. Because the last one was even more mind-numbing than this one. :D
And I'm bored.
And Snatch is brilliant, especially since Talladega Nights was the other option ¬¬;;;;
Will Farrell annoys me.
  • Listening to: The static from my headphones. Wait, what?

Sometimes I'm here. Mostly I'm not.
I'm improving, slowly.
Never mind.
Something happened to my Posession picture.
I don't know what, but the net effect was the complete deletion of everything in it.
I don't know how long I'd spent on that damn thing, but it was lots of hours and I'd just nearly finished the entire foreground.

Okay, slightly my fault for not having a recent backup. The one I've got is from well before the screenshot I put up - it's basically a sketch.

*calmbeforethestorm*

RAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!
I need to work for retakes
I need to sleep
I need to draw
I need to stop getting so p'od with how boring/bad/whatever my digipics that I never finish them. Or restart from scratch.

I need to come up with a bg for the Posession pic.

...

I need dA V5 to start working properly for firefox so I can actually look at pics in fullview without the comments box covering most of them up.
I will be working the 9 til 5 for the next week
Work experience, which despite all expectations and a hell of a lot of nerves I have enjoyed (so far, this being the first day of it).

Results for AS's coming in on Thursday.

Can I just hibernate till it's all over?
It's quarter to six in the morning and I have to go throw weights around in the gym now.
I hate early starts.

On the other hand, just back from a week paddling in bosnia and one in france and I have a halfway decent tan, whoopee.

Bye.
Outsida my window trying to stay upright on a sillilly thin branch.
Heh.

Finally got some more stuff up.
Exam results out in 2 1/2 months, die. At least they're all over.
Anyone just done maths A-level OCR out there?

Going to bosnia in four weeks, yay paddling.

I can't finish anything major, it's pathetic. I have dozens of compy-pics up there and one/two decent ones out there. They're either unfinished, won't be finished, or no longer good enough to bother with.

*sadness*
*boredness*
*ravenness*
*sleepness*

I will go write story now, do prologue back page now.

New graphic-novel-thing: :iconravenstale: updates Mon + Thurs (at least for the next three weeks.)
5 more hand-done coming, from anything up to last year.
Which happens to be the best one, dammit.

Apart from that, nothing much except

:iconravenstale:

and :icondajenneh: who seems to be on mute at the moment. Noo, eveil, good luch with the rest of your exams. I have just finished (Thurs) so I will gloat. :glomp:
I have too much of it. 8 days off devart until now, this sort of thing will continue. Haven't really been drawing, have been stressed out though this will get better after today (last possible coursework day). No ideas at at, just so glad I'm giving up tech. Love the subject, hate the stress. Exams in 1 week and a few days, selection just beforehand coursework NOW.

The only reasopn I'm here now is because I need the break and there's nothing I can do for a few minutes.

Bye again.
Mah gawd, so close to 3,000 pageviews!
Thanks so much to everyone who helped - even though I haven't exactly been fantastic with commenting etc. myself.
Aargh. Problem is that half the time when I come on here to do a brief check etc. I end up mucking about for ages and i'm not really organised enough to spend that much time doing non-work etc.

Prize piccy for 3,000 person - would have to be non-compy stuff though.

Aargh, coming down with the stupid cold that's been going round for the SECOND time. Ah well.
Like, half of school isn't in at the moment, and half the teachers have got the bug too so not stupid-much work. :D :D

Ooh, musta go
  meh, happy!
Prize for 2500 pgviews

Trades, anyone? May be slow if you want a compy-art piece.
Got back from the world and european champs, and guess what? We got a bronze medal in the europeans team  event, me and two of the other girls. W00T. :cent:
I am so happy, I am so happy.
It was absolutely manic, though... on the classic event I got pushed to the wrong side of a weir by the water, pushed onto a low ledge, which I dropped over sideways. Somehow managing not to fall in, I went down the rest of the biggest weir on the course backwards, staying upright until I tried to turn round at the bottom. Lost my grip on the paddle with one hand, fell in, grabbed the paddle back underwater and rolled up. Only lost 20 secs overall any way.
Results: Europeans
Sprint: 18th
Classic: 16th
Team: 3rd

Worlds:
Sprint:18th
Classic:16th:
Team: 4th (but still beat the italians on their home river :) )

*waves to Jenneh*, eh two things. A) I'm back!!! (as if you couldn't tell)
B)My phone is messed up. As in completely dead.

Blah. *rolls over and goes back to sleep*
